The Hong Kong Film Critics Society has named "The Postmodern Life of My Aunt" the best film of 2007 as it announced its annual kudos-list.
Starring Chow Yun Fat, also won awards for director Ann Hui and lead actress Siqin Gaowa. Tony Leung Ka Fai, who was named best actor two years ago with "Everlasting Regret," is once again awarded for his work in Yau Nai Hoi's "Eye In The Sky."
Wai Ka-fai and Au Kin-yee won best screenplay for Johnnie To's "Mad Detective."
The Society also named eight films in its recommendation list, but it did express disappointment over movies released in Hong Kong last year. "Only 51 Hong Kong films received theatrical release, and the quality of films are uneven only nine or ten films making our discussion shortlist."
